The fourth quarter has been spent participating in Google's CS First Coding Club in the Storytelling theme. In Storytelling, students use block coding in Scratch to create fun and interactive stories. Students are prompted to be creative and tell a unique story for each lesson by focusing on specific parts of storytelling such as dialogue, setting, premise, and characterization. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively to debug coding problems, to offer/accept suggestions, to share their work, and to help each other learn. After each activity, students write a reflection in their Passport to Computer Science about what they created and learned in the lesson.
